Venue
The sessions will take place in the Portego Room of
Palazzo
Cavalli-Franchetti, one of the two landmark buildings of the
Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed
Arti.
Palazzo Franchetti is located right on the Grand Canal, next to the bridge
to the Accademia galleries (Ponte dell'Accademia). As a major landmark,
Accademia has its own vaporetto (water bus) station, and there are many
direction signs to (Ponte dell')Accademia across Venice. If you get lost,
ask for Accademia, but note that the Accademia galleries are on the other
side of the wooden bridge from Palazzo Franchetti.
Accomodation.
We are holding eight single and eight double rooms at the Cultural Centre
Don Orione Artigianelli.
It is located a three minutes' walk from Palazzo Franchetti, across the
Accademia bridge. To book a room please contact them directly. Other nice
hotels in the area include
Locanda San Barnaba
(currently closed, we expect it to reopen) next to Ca'Rezzonico & Campo
San Barnaba;
Hotel American Dinesen
around the corner from the Guggenheim Museum; and
La Calcina on the Zattere quay.
