Travel
Venice can be easily reached by air, train, and bus. From both the central bus
station at Piazzale Roma and the nearby train station, the conference venue and
conference hotel can be reached by foot or by water bus.
From Marco Polo airport there is a frequent bus connection to Piazzale Roma.
The scenic route is by the Alilaguna
vaporetto. The Blue Line takes you straight to the Zattere stop. This is close
to Don Orione Artigianelli and La Calcina, both hotels can be reached without
crossing any bride. To Hotel American Dinesen, there is one bridge to cross.
The Blue Line trip takes close to two hours.
A bit shorter is the connection via the Orange Line (Linea Arancio), which takes
a bit more than an hour. You can get off either at Ca'Rezzonico (50 m from Locanda
San Barnaba)
or Santa Maria del Giglio. From both stops it is some 15 minutes
to walk to Don Orione/La Calcina. If you have heavy luggage note that several
bridges, solely with stone steps, need to be crossed.
If you travel together in a group of four-five you might consider a water taxi,
the regal option. Check prices beforehand.
NB: When you fill in the EU Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF) before your
departure to Italy, note that Marco Polo airport is listed there under the
name Venezia-Tessera.
