Phase synchronization of thalamocortical signals vs linear coherence analysis

Abstract:
Phase synchronization analysis requires strong model assumptions which may 
not be satisfied by the sources of neurological activity, therefore it is 
of advantage to examine other means of correlation analysis.
For the purpose of investigating coupling between the thalamus and the 
cortex phase synchronization analysis applied with the aid of 
the wavelet transform is compared with linear coherence.
