Travel

Venice can be easily reached by air, train, and bus. From both the central bus station at Piazzale Roma and the nearby train station, the conference venue and conference hotel can be reached by foot or by water bus. It is highly recommended to print a map in advance.
From the Marco Polo airport there is a frequent bus connection to Piazzale Roma. The scenic route is by the Alilaguna vaporetto. The Blue Line takes you straight to the Zattere stop, hundred metres away from Don Orione Artigianelli, the conference hotel (and three hundred metres from the conference site). This trip takes close to two hours. Much shorter is the connection via the Orange Line (Linea Arancio), which takes about an hour. You can get off either at Ca'Rezzonico or Santa Maria del Giglio. From both stops it is some 15 minutes to walk to Don Orione. If you have heavy luggaged note that several bridges, solely with stone steps, need to be crossed.
If you travel together in a group of four-five you might consider a water taxi, the regal option. Check prices beforehand.
