FIDIPRO Programme
"FiDiPro - the Finland Distinguished Professor Programme enables distinguished researchers, both international and expatriates to work and team up with the 'best of the best' in Finnish academic research."Prof Metzler was awarded a Finland Distinguished Professor position at Tampere University of Technology from 12/2010 until 10/2015. In collaboration with the group of Prof Ilpo Vattulainen the FiDiPro project aims at investigating theoretically and computationally the physical aspects and biological consequences of macromolecular crowding, the superdense environment in living cells. During the tenure of the FiDiPro project, Prof Metzler heads a research group at Tampere University of Technology.
