A DUST TORUS NEAR PALLENE SENSED BY CASSINI-CDA

When Cassini pierced through the inner E ring coming from the outer regions of the Kronian system near Titan, the Cosmic Dust analyzer (CDA) registered an increase in the dust impact rate a few times.

Five flybys between spring 2010 and winter 2011 all showed that localized phenomenon located ca. 1100 km outside the orbit of the small Saturn Moon Pallene.
